It's been a while since I last posted and figured it was about time... Livia was sick with the flu for the majority of last week, so I've been playing catch up with work ever since. Adam is suffering from an upper respiratory infection right now which has been going around on base. Please pray for a quick recovery. It's tough being sick and having to get up at 0400, then run a few miles, study all day, and lead a class in the meantime!
Bryna has really been quite homesick, so I'm trying to increase one-on-one time with her. She comes with me to the farmer's market on Saturdays, this weekend she'll come to the salon with me, we've been having more reading time together, etc. But last night - we went on date. Joshua Springs hosted the African Children's Choir! It was life changing.....
These children are between the ages of 6 and 9. They have all lost at least one parent to AIDs, disease, or genocide. But when they sing - they are so filled with hope, joy, and the love of Jesus. You can't keep your eyes off them!!! Except mine were filled with tears the whole time... Just really puts all the trite worries of our ultra privileged lives into perspective.
Anyway - all the proceeds go directly toward these kids' education, housing, and bright futures. These kids go on to become doctors, lawyers, teachers, pastors, musicians. No one can reach Uganda like these amazing children can!
It was fantastic!! Go buy a CD!
